I have some crickets gently offered by “Micronutris” left. Micronutris is the first french producer of edible insects. These little crickets will be eaten soon and be a in my next recipe! If you want more information about Micronutris, it’s in french and it’s here!

I’m working also on the part two and three of the feedbacks of my tasting experiences.

As you see, quite busy, but one thing at a time!

In the news

There are a lot of different information coming up in the news. It’s very motivating! In all of these information I have selected 2 articles that I wanna share with you :

The first is an article from the Pacific Standard : “Are vegan obligated to eat insects?” published on the 13 of November 2014. I found the aspect about animal welfare very educative. (Click on the image, for reading the article!)

The second one is an article from the Belgian newspaper Metro : “Eating insects need some precautions” published in french on the 27 of October 2014. As you may now, insects are available in Belgian supermarkets since the 1st of October. The Belgian sanitary council stated upon edible insects and had made some recommandations :

  • Only eat insects from rearing system developed especially for human consumption.
  • Always cook insects before eating them.
  • People allergic to crustacean, mollusks and acarina should not eat insects.
  • Wings and legs should be taken away.

For the review

It’s time for a little review of this first month online with you!

First, I’m a little bit disappointed by the views and feedbacks of the french posts. I really thought that it would interest more people… But it’s my fault, I didn’t share it enough.

Little souvenir : One month ago, I didn’t know what an HTML page was…

Instead, for the american version, I didn’t think I would have so much shares and feedbacks. I’m really amazed by your support and I’m sure that we will do some great things together in the future!

For a first month, that’s really positive and well, that’s only the beginning!

For ending this post, here is quote for all of us :

Great things are done by a series of small things brought together.

Formerly I'm an environmental engineer, personal trainer, fitness nutrition specialist and "Entotarian". In the edible insects industry for five years, I've been consultant for an insect farm in France, free-lance writer and international speaker. After developing the world's first table-top farm, I'm now in Paris with Jimini's where we are developing and selling delicious insects. I would say that my life revolves around eating insects.
